The Daily Post photo challenge for this week is to snap a door (or doors), experiment with colour and see what stories arise. I chose a door around the corner from home which I’ve loved since I moved in. It’s full of the kind of character I enjoy in the older low-rise blocks around my uber-Korean towering apartment block. In the spring, the cherry and magnolia trees just over the back of it shower stunning blooms along the wall that light up my return from work each evening.
I also revisited my older photos to dig up a variety of doors and infuse them with light and colour to see what happened. It’s been a fun afternoon of sorting through old entrances, exits and barriers and walking through the dusty corridors of memory to give them a spring-clean. See the gallery below for the results.
Lots of this week’s participants have been inspired by this prompt, and it seems the portal nature of doors is already a subject of interest for a lot of people.
Have you noticed any bizarre doors in odd locations? If so, join in the post-a-day photo fun!
Happy snapping, folks.
